Name:
Draven Kriva "Visith" Auriloth
Age:
277
Race:
[iDunmer][/i]
Class:
Nightblade
Place of Birth:
Ebonheart
Marital Status:
Single
Known Friends and Relatives:
N/A
History:
Born in central Ebonheart, he got used to city life quickly. He wasn't a parent-raised child, however. He was found abandoned on the doorstep of an orphanage but wasn't picked up by the caretaker. He was found by a league of assassins that was more seclusive than the Morag Tong and the Dark Brotherhood combined. It had no official name and was merely referred to as "The Order". It was less than common knowledge and its actions were always covered-up by planted rumors of the Tong and Brotherhood. At the time they were on a "recruiting" run, taking in abandoned children to transform them from average citizens to cold assassins. They raised him through the generations of masters, his lifespan as a Dunmer allowing him to train for more time than the human members. He spent the most time training, despite the mockings of the more advanced members. He hardly left on missions that weren't the simple watch and listen kind they usually sent children on for about 70 years. He trained constantly, read constantly, got involved in the intellectually compelling debates and theoretical thought sessions that were common among the elder members of the Order. The others mocked him, but he learned early that a plan is the best attack.
When he reached his 100th birthday, Draven decided it was time to put all of his knowledge to use in the field. He took an average mission. The advanced members insisted that his lack of field work should set him on novice missions, but the Elders accepted Draven's request. Naturally, the lack of field expertise held him back from the theoretical mastery he had acquired, but he still did well for his first time, truthfully better than at most half of the senior members of the Order. They got jealous.
Now, even though killing a fellow member was far against the rules, the others plotted to kill the rising star. Assassins of this kind didn't have room for a favorite, and the Elders were growing ever fonder of this young boy. Most didn't get a name until they were experienced, yet Draven was gifted the name "Visith", which was pronounced piercingly and with hissing undertones in such a way that it struck fear into others. It was far better than some others, who were named things like "Bloodmoon" and "Shadowcrown". The night he turned 101, they struck. He escaped their attack but he was left with a scar on his right cheek that almost got to his eye. Nearly, but not quite.
Draven fled to Vivec, where he thought he could get lost from the Order, but deep down he knew better. His time in Vivec was short-lived, but he encountered one of the Elders of the Order there. Initially filled with fear, he was relieved when the Elder sought to help him. The Elder gave Draven his gear and one important thing: His name. Visith was a great name to Draven's ears, but the knowledge of his true name changed everything. Draven Kriva Auriloth was a melody that sang to his ears with the voice of a thousand muses. It made him feel lighter on his feet and put more will in his heart. The Elder told Draven to flee to Cyrodiil, for the influence of the Order was restrained to Morrowind and Black Marsh due to secret agreements with the Dark Brotherhood that even some Elders didn't know about. Any Order member in a province other than those two would immediately be killed by Dark Brotherhood border agents. All except Draven. The Elder contacted the Brotherhood and ensured his safe passage, but it was a one-time, one-way transit. If he tried to return to Morrowind or visit Black Marsh, he would be killed either by Brotherhood or Order agents, so he was warned to stay east.
He followed this advice and fled immediately to Cheydinhal...
